Rubicon Gallery exhibition space at 10 Saint Stephens Green Dublin was initiated in 1995. The gallery's core objective is to enable contemporary Irish and International artists to realise and optimise projects in all media, both in the gallery space and elsewhere. Rubicon Gallery annually presents ten exhibitions in Dublin, solo-projects in the main with some curated events and produces 4-6 publications. The Gallery participates in International Art Fairs, commissioning new works and introducing Irish artists in Europe & the Rest of World.
Josephine Kelliher is the owner and director of Rubicon Gallery. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Management and a post graduate diploma in the History of European Painting from Trinity College, her involvement with artists began in 1990. In addition to a curatorial role in Rubicon Gallery, she talks and lectures on professional practice, sits on the Board of Ballinglen Arts Foundation and collaborates nationally to promote contemporary art practice in Ireland. Rubicon Gallery catalogues and monographs are all produced by Josephine Kelliher.
